This was a first for me. My first last minute booking! Very much so. Mom was on the brink of labour when she contacted me, and was concerned that she would Birth that evening! It was craziness. Needless to say, Mom never Birthed that evening, so we organised to meet up. I very much prefer to meet my Birth clients before the Birth. We share a very vulnerable and intimate time together and I am more comfortable if my clients know me – as in this case, even if its just a little bit. 🙂
La Verne went into Labour the night after we met. I got the call at around 8am the next morning. I arrived at Genesis Clinic at 9am to a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. The way birth should be. La Verne laboured the day through. She tackled each contraction as it came. She was strong. She was determined.
Her family came to see her, and will her on. They knew in their hearts that this day would change their lives forever. The day, a husband became a father, a Mom became a Grandmother, a sister became an Aunty, and a friend became a Dear friend. The miracle of Birth. Just one new life, changes so many!
Supported by her family and friends, her Midwife, Gail, and her husband, Graham, La Verne persevered. She did her absolute best. At 10 cm dilated and the end of the day, baby Shiloh began her struggle. The path through her Moms pelvis was just too difficult. No body can really say why.
At 18h10 baby Shiloh Madison was born, gently and safely via Cesarean section. Relief filled everyone hearts. A beautiful, perfect baby girl, was born!
