“Let me start by saying that choosing to have our baby’s birth photographed was one of the best decisions we have ever made, and choosing Natalie to do it, was another. After finding Creationography on Instagram and spending hours on Natalie’s blog, I knew that I wanted her there.

My husband was quite hesitant at first, worried that I wouldn’t be able to relax and be myself with a ‘stranger’ in the room, but that wasn’t the case at all. Natalie was anything but a stranger. From the minute she walked into the room I felt as if I had a friend there with me. She made herself comfortable which immediately put me at ease and I truly could not have done it without her.

Natalie was such a great support to both me and my husband; if she wasn’t helping me through contractions or calling the nurses and/or doctor, she was busy putting my husband at ease by telling him what needed doing. She was extremely helpful and by no means intrusive, I don’t recall once seeing her camera. She fitted right in and was such a pleasure to have around.

And our photographs are just INCREDIBLE! Looking through them, we experience all of the emotions and feelings from the special day our son was born. Natalie gave us exactly what we wanted, and you can see by her photographs that she is passionate, professional and extremely talented.

“When you decide to have a baby, inevitably you count every penny and every cost! The doula that attended my son’s birth offered to take photos for us to document our precious moment. So when I considered how I would capture my daughter’s birth, I knew that I would want it done professionally. In all honesty, I gasped when I saw what the going rate for birth photos was and it made me think twice. To help me decide, I even took to Twitter and Facebook to ask if I should have a birth photographer or just do a family shoot. “We had our doubts about hiring a birth photographer – would it ruin the birth moment, would we feel self conscious, or would she get in the way of doctors and the procedure?
I’m so grateful we didn’t give into the doubts, as we now have the most exquisite photo memories of such a special day in our lives. And no, she didn’t “ruin” the birth moment, we didn’t even notice she was around most of the time, and the doctors were happy to have her in the theatre as Natalie is such a pro, and very respectful of procedures and space. I have always loved Natalie’s birth photos, and have had four family shoots with her, so it was an obvious choice to go with her. “During my pregnancy (as with so many other mom’s to be), I couldn’t sleep at night. So I used to search the web, Facebook, and spending my time reading up as much as I possibly can to prepare myself for this new chapter in our lives….I did not even know that it was possible to have a birth photographer at this point in time… one night, during one of my browsing spree’s I came across a video that Natalie had done – I was so touched that I ended up emailing Natalie at a crazy hour requesting details about her birth photography packages.
Low and behold, Natalie emailed me back at an equal obscene time (I knew at that point she was the one for the job).
From the word go, Natalie has been understanding, kind and extremely efficient. She sent me all required consent documents and the deal was done.
For reasons out of our control we were not able to meet Natalie before the delivery date, which obviously made us a bit nervous. Was allowing a “stranger” into this very special occasion going to uncomfortable? All the concerns literally vanished the moment Natalie walked through the door. She blended in and became part of the family instantly. She supported with advice just at the right times and really managed to capture the most important event in our lives literally from the background.
Allowing Creationography into our lives was the best decision we could have made. We watch the birth video literally over and over and are so in awe with something that would have been left up to our vague memory if we did not have Natalie by our side” – Corene

“During my pregnancy I was driving myself insane wondering how I was going to capture the birth of my first born, I knew for sure that I wanted my Husband to be part of every moment and thought if he was so busy taking photos or recording videos he was sure to miss out. I came across Creationography from a very close family member and when I stumbled across her Facebook page I was instantly captivated by her work, my prayers were answered and I instantly contacted her to book for the birth photography.

As the day was nearing closer I went for my final check up and the doctor wasn’t very happy with my blood pressure and wanted to do a csection the following morning, needless to say my head was racing but while confirming everything with the hospital that afternoon I remember my FIRST call was to Natalie, my words, it’s happening tomorrow, she was completely onboard told me not to stress at all and that she would be there at 5 the following morning to capture the day that would forever change mine and Shaun’s life.

Having Natalie there was amazing, she was apart of the family, not only did she capture this momentous day in our lives but she was supportive in every way possible. I can’t begin to describe how we felt when received our images and video lets just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, what we did is absolutely priceless, memories that we will cherish for all the years to come, we are excited to one day share this with our beautiful son. “ My husband and I weren’t sure if having someone photograph the birth of our daughter was something we really wanted to do. We’re both camera shy and not very good at being photographed.

We had planned a completely natural birth with no pain medication or interventions – I expected our photos to be of me triumphantly bringing my baby into the world in a lovely water birth. This wasn’t how things worked out at all and my lovely daughter entered the world via emergency caesarian after things went awry with our plans.

” After stumbling across this amazing phenomenon called birthing photography, I knew I just had to have my first labour captured. Little knowing how key this decision would be. Thanks to search engines I came across Creationography’s website and nervously contacted Natalie. Luckily there was no need for nerves. We scheduled a maternity shoot beforehand and this provided us with a great way to get to know Natalie and vice versa. Then the waiting game began.

I remembered to contact Natalie when I had an inkling that our little man may be showing signs of entering this world but further than that, it was all up to my amazing hubby to ensure she made it to the birth. Who remembers such between contractions?!! I remember Natalie coming into the room but other than that, it was subtle, private, intimate and my birthing team got down to business as we struggled to get the little man out into this world while Natalie quietly and perfectly captured every emotion, struggle and ultimately joy we experienced that day. The best part of it all….. I could relive everything through her video and pictures as in that moment one cannot comprehend how huge the moment is. The ultimate gift for me was seeing my husband being the amazing man I know him to be and welcoming a new little man into our lives and we can relive this at any time having captured it through photography.
