Cisca & Madison at Boschendal Wine Estate | Cape Town Photographer

I met with Cisca and her beautiful daughter, Madison, at Boschendal Wine Estate in Franschhoek. They live in the Netherlands and come to SA to visit family. Boschendal is a special farm as Cisca mom had preciously worked there, and so we decided to do some Mom and Daughter photographs in and around the farm. Mom had warned me that Madison was not in the greatest of mood. With this warning, I put on my friendly smiley face, knelt down to her level and made her feel comfy. She was wonderful! We let her play and run around. We blew bubbles and looked at flowers! She really was great! 😉 Madison only speaks Dutch, yet she understand English. Wow, at 21 months, it is simply amazing what these little minds know and learn! Here we are, introducing little Madison…

Belfield Wine Farm Harvest April 2013 | Cape Town Commercial Photographer

Mike and Mel Kreft, owner’s of Belfield Wine Farm in Elgin, Grabouw, asked me to photograph their grape Harvest in April. I was so very happy to be a part of this occasion. Although I do not drink much wine, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the process/es involved in harvesting the grapes! The picker’s also enjoyed the camera, with their huge grins and poses! I think they thought they would be on television!! 🙂

Eugene & Ronette | A celebration! | Cape Town Wedding Photographer

Well, here we are folks, my first Wedding as the main photographer! It was a wonderful success! Eugene and Ronette tied the knot in Gordon’s Bay at their family holiday home. The home sits on the beach which allowed us to take some pics on the beach! The one day, of course, that we were plagued by gale force winds, that is! It made for a super, great, gale of a day! 🙂 It was interesting and challenging! I loved every minute of photographing this special day! Huge HUGE thank you’s to Eugene and Ronette for picking me to document this wonderful day and special thanks to Tracey Shaw for being at my side! You were ALL totally awesome! Much love xxx These beautiful little eye’s speak a thousand words… A father’s love for his Son… Yes, Gordon’s Bay winds… need I say more. :p Brotherly love! A Celebration! | Lydia and Matthew | Cape Town Wedding Photographer

Lydia and Matthew tied the knot at Forest 44 in Stellenbosch – a simple but elegant wedding venue! La Pineta, the restaurant made THE BEST food, hands down! I gobbled like a mad women! I made sure I sat at my seat to ensure that Heathyr and I got some pudding by the end of the evening ;p hehe Its hard work you know and us poor souls can, mostly, only go as far as googling at the wedding cake! A super stunning (and EASY) bride to photograph. What a breeze! She looked magnificent!

Anine & Christopher | Kiddies | Cape Town Photographer

This little Man has got some super-dooper energy! Mum really does have her hands full! He is gorgeous – the easiest little fella to photograph. He took one look at me and I got all the smiles! Was wonderful! Thank you mummy, Anine, for letting little Christopher just ‘be’. Cute Christopher, full of beans! Getting half of Christopher in my frame was a common occurrence… ants in those pants for sure! Little mischief!! Michelle & Jodi | Kiddies | Cape Town Photographer

Little Jodi is a real character. A funny and feisty little thing! What a personality she has got! She is bold with a very sensitive side – gorgeous soul! I absolutely loved shooting her. I had so many laughs. Jodi was terrified of the big Dogs on the farm and clung to mummy for dear life (so precious!) but heck when she found her feet again, it was play play play! Adore this… flying in the water! So sweet! Jodi knows all the moves to all the nursery rhymes… and mummy too! hehe This to me, is just tooo precious. mwah Jodi smell the flower… 😉 Mummy… eat!!

Suzie and Marina | Kiddies | Cape Town Childrens Photographer

This little girl, Marina, is just ADORE-ABLE! In every way. She is so sweet; calm and gentle. What a treat photographing her. She reminded me of myself as a young girl; very shy and subdued. Trying to get some smiles out of her took some work on my part, but man, even the photographs of her with no smiles are gorgeous! 😉 I would be so proud to be her mum! Lucky mummy, Suzie!

A Celebration | Andrei and Daleen | Cape Town Wedding Photographer

Daleen and Andrei’s wedding took place at the gorgeous Kronenburg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Lord, I got lost! Can you believe it… okay, okay, you can – I do get lost in shopping malls *ashamed*! Even worse was the fact that this was the second time I have been to this venue *lowers head*… BUT the first time, I wasnt driving AND I was pregnant!! The lovely Heathyr allowed me to take some shots again! Yeehaa! What a beautiful day, Daleen and Andrei really had the angels on their side – it pored and pored leading up to the day. It truely was a SPRING day (as I know it in Joburg!)… Gorgeous! Really like these shoes… I would definitely kill over wearing them though!! Stunning Bride! A LITTLE NUNU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Having a laugh! Heathyr in action! Cutie’s!! These vineyards captured me… very antique wintery looking – so different. Love it! OMG… this is seriously THE worst part about being a Photographer at a wedding… I have to stare at THIS!! and a table full of THIS… Kill me now!! DIE!!!!! Really lovely couple!

Chris & Charmaine | Love

So my Cuzzy, Charmaine, and her Man, Chris, were very eager to do some snazzy posing around UCT! Some UCT security guards… not so eager! So dodging them guards, we went, and searching some nooks, we found! These two have got it made! Well Done you two… what fantastic shots!! The beforehand ‘outfit craziness search’ was well worth it!! ;p Do I just L.O.V.E these red Ivy leaves… Gorgeous Char and her lashes… Damn her!… and a fig all women would die for! sheesh …’these boots are made for walkin’ …some funky reflections! this little creation takes some serious concentration 😉

A Celebration | Saralyn and Marcin | Tie the Knot!

The gorgeous Saralyn and Marcin tied the knot at the stunning Kronenburg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch this December. Heathyr was kind enough to drag me *literally* along again 😉 What a stunner of a venue! An outdoor ceremony in their amphitheatre and straight next door to the reception in their very spacious dining hall. I think the photographs tell all… ! Enjoy!

A Celebration | Katherine and Anthony | Cape Town Wedding Photographer

Katherine and Anthony tied the knot in the quaint little town of Paternoster, up the West Coast. A real Gem! So along with Heathyr I went for a little weekend venture. It really was a special day with very personalised touches. Katherine was given her mom’s beautiful umbrella, of which she had used on her wedding day, for walking down the isle. Gorgeous. During the ceremony, the wedding bands, tied together with ribbon were passed around the congregation for each person to place their blessing upon. So very special. As the wind never aloud a beach ceremony, the couple decided to take their vows alone on the beach – it really was so special to witness. AND as the couple came together as one, they poured two different colour sands into one vase which will remain an ornament in their new home together; a reminder of their special bond. If you are not weepy by now… ;p Here you are, the witnesses to this special day. I hope you enjoy! A very gorgeous bride… The joining of two… 😉 The stunning Heathyr Huss in action! 😉 Oh my, the cake! *sigh* The good ol funnies!

A Celebration | Kleinjan and Marguerite | Cape Town Photographer

I just cannot wait for you all to see this one… ;p Oh I adore all the colours, the beautifuly gorgeous Fynbos, THE CAKE!!!!!!!!, the mini protea’s!!!, the stunning couple! ;), the gorgeous (for loss of a better word) farm…. The gracefully gorgeous (yes, again!) wedding of Kleinjan and Marguerite took place at the family wine farm Bluegum Grove in Stellenbosch! What a treat this one was! A Celebration | Jolandi and Leigh | Cape Town Photographer

Oh YES it is, another tying of the knot!! I was lucky enough to be chosen by the very talented Roelien Visser from Finishing Touch consultants as her second shooter/assistant for the day! The celebrations took part at Skilpadvlei Wine Estate in the gorgeous winelands of Stellenbosch – just on my doorstep ;D Now this wedding, very cute and wonderful, taught me some valuable lessons! 1. Take FOOD and WATER silly! Its a Loooong day! 2. Boots are a NO NO… I am soo avoiding buying myself a pair of those ghastly CROCS… hmm 3. Natalie, most weddings have a cash bar so take… So need a dop WATER by that stage! ;D 4. BE prepared for ANYTHING… I must say, being an assistant is quite comfy, no pressure, no need to think up some corny poses or even tell anyone to say the dreaded CHEEEEESE! But wait, you may just be asked to take the couple or girls/guys on your OWN and snap! What?! No Way?! A lot more challenging than I thought! Thank you Roelien, for allowing me this opportunity to discover and learn! Enjoy the snaps folks!

Patenoster Travels | Patenoster Dunes Boutique Guesthouse | Cape Town Photographer

On a recent Wedding venture I found myself in the gorgeous little town of Patenoster, up the Cape West Coast. What a G.E.M! A very tiny little fishing village in nowhere land… ahh Gorgeous! I am so in love. Not much seems to happen in this town except some weddings and well, fishing… 😉 On a breakfast invite, myself and Heathyr (my grand prof. photog :D) paid a visit to the Patenoster Dunes Boutique Guesthouse and of course the sucker I am for decor and pretty thing that I can photograph… huh, breakfast?! oh yes, that is why we are here right… In an attempt to remain composed I quietly ate my breakfast and admired my surroundings, and then snuck in a few shots…. 😉 Quickly! Seriously NEED to go back there!!

A Celebration | Nazli and Russel | Tie the knot

In more ways than one this dear wedding was a CELEBRATION! The joining of two hearts and two family and dum dum dum… MY FIRST WEDDING as a Photographer’s Assistant! The fantastic Heathyr Huss asked me to assist her at this wedding and was VERY kind to allow me to whip my own Cam over my shoulder *BIG grin*. YES! I was super stoked! The 24th of September 2011, one day before my very own first wedding Anniversary, I joined Heathyr on this adventure filled day! Oh boy, the nerves were going crazy and of course I didnt know what to do where and felt completely flusted, but in the end, what great fun it was!! Wow, I have a new found respect for Wedding Photographers! Actually, ALL Photographers! Before I set foot on this journey, I was clueless (for loss of a better word, but so TRUE)! I even asked some non-pro friends to Photograph my own wedding, not even thinking twice about the huge task I was asking of them! Man O Man!
